Overview

We are expanding our current scale of operations and are seeking a lab technician.

Responsibilities

  • Experiment Preparation:
    • Assist in the preparation of electrochemical cells, including assembling electrodes and configuring experimental setups.
    • Prepare and analyze electrolytes and other chemical solutions.
  • Electrochemical Testing:
    • Conduct electrochemical experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
    • Monitor and record data during experiments, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Instrument Operation and Maintenance:
    • Operate and maintain electrochemical instrumentation, such as potentiostats, galvanostats, and impedance analyzers.
    • Troubleshoot and address minor technical issues with equipment.
    • Upkeep of laboratory inventory, procurement, and instrument calibration.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Collaborate with researchers to collect and analyze electrochemical data.
    • Summarize and report findings, contribute to research publications and present results within technical and other teams.
  • Quality Control:
    • Implement quality control measures and upkeep of the lab to ensure reliability of experimental data.
    • Document and report any deviations from established procedures.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines specific to electrochemical experimentation.
    • Participate in safety training and adhere to laboratory safety standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with team members to achieve research objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with senior chemists and researchers regarding experiment progress and results.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
    • Compile data into reports for review and analysis.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Minimum Diploma holder. Ideally Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, particularly in electrochemistry and analytical chemistry is preferred. Familiarity with a variety of electrochemical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and UV-vis Spectroscopy is preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address technical issues with electrochemical and other instrumentation.
  • Experience with data analysis software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and team working abilities.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and experimental protocols.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures in a laboratory setting.
