NEU Battery Materials is a lithium-ion battery recycling startup. We are the world's first electrochemical process for battery recycling and we target batteries such as those in our electric cars. Our mission is to become the largest, cleanest, and most neutral source of recycled lithium globally. 

In 2025, we are expanding our current scale of operations and are seeking an experienced chemical engineer. This new teammate will play a crucial role in the battery recycling process through development and scale-up to commercialization. Working closely with the R&D team, this hire will lead the design, planning, and implementation of layouts for our cutting-edge recycling equipment.to accelerate the advancement of pilots and concepts to scalable, refined commercial products.

Responsibilities

1. Design, plan, and implement our layout for our recycling equipment to optimize production and decrease costs
2. Assemble, operate, and maintain pilot scale recycling system
3. Develop and implement safety procedures for our team
4. Facilitate trial production to support product improvement and development
5. Identify areas of opportunities for process improvement, modification, and optimization ideas

Required Qualifications

1. Qualifications: Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience
2. Self-driven, independent and resourceful
3. Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills
4. Possess good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
5. Excellent communication in English
6. Good to have knowledge in any of these areas; flow battery, redox flow processes, electrochemical processes, fuel cell
